Up and Running

Today is November 11 and I’m happy that teeheetime.com is now up and running. More importantly, I’ve been able to take over the site from the creator (Cole Design) and do the basic operations myself. WordPress, which is what was used to create the site, has some useful features and while it is not an all in one package (major disadvantage, in my opinion), the basics that I need are all there.

November has been a good month for me. Aside from this Web site, Cole Design also put together another Web site for me at kevingahern.com. It has a very different focus, as you’ll see. On top of that, I had a minor surgical procedure successfully completed on my heart and everything is looking good. I’m back to doing minor exercise and expect to soon be OK’d for my full gym workout.

Thought of the day

Setting up a blog is a new experience and a presumptuous one.  Making a blog assumes one has something reasonably important to say and that someone else wants to read it.  If I want to communicate something to someone I know, I would write them a letter, an email, call them up, or go visit them.  A blog provides a level of anonymity to the reader, if they wish, and also to the writer, if they wish.  I would not want to go the undercover route, though, because I like to share what I write.  It is a great delight to know people are reading things I write and enjoying them (presumably).

So, that said, welcome to my blog.  I hope you’ll also choose not to be anonymous and post feedback here.
