The Easter bunny left some sweets
They said in Sunday School
But when we went to find his treats
It cried out, “April Fools!”
The warmth’s returning to the north
As flowers from their beds burst forth
Songbirds are building nests in trees
And we’re at the end of flu disease
It is the time when springtime shows us
Garden beds of lovely roses
And for beauty we can depend on
There’s enormous blooms of rhododendrons
But let us not forget that spring
Leaves many folks crestfallen
They dread the song that nature sings
To them, it’s quite ‘a pollen’
And as April takes its final bow
I’m unenthusiastic
Cuz recyclers in Corvallis now
Are taking fewer plastics
