She was absent one day in fourth grade
And now has a bad result
Cuz that’s when they taught kids
How to be an adult
Included were the basics
Like courtesy and respect
And how to budget money
When bill payers come to collect
Of rights and responsibilities
Plus values to discover
And the way to behave to
Get along with one and other
She wishes she hadn’t missed it
But had a case of the flu
I think a lot of other kids
Missed those lessons too
