The Little Guy died
Late last night
After putting up
A gallant fight
Born in the ashes
Of the Great Depression
He weathered wars, hate
And power obsession
The son of hard work
And what life brings
The Little Guy appreciated
Little things
Nurtured by hope
And dedication
The Little Guy prospered
With education
He raised his family
Through sweat and tears
But began declining
In recent years
Said to be the last
Of a dying breed
The Little Guy succumbed
To corporate greed
Per his request
One lone demand
A simple service
Modestly planned
