Mother Nature’s lovely voice
Appeals to all the ages
Hearing it can cause rejoice
Irrespective of our status
Though awkwardness of youth I had
And no one disagreed
Mother Nature pushed this lad
To go and spread his seed
I’m older now and happier too
The awkward phase long passed
Perspective I have gained, it’s true
And wisdom that will last
When Mother Nature’s in my head
Today it is regardin’
Some seed she’s asking me to spread
But only in my garden
And this I do, I love it too
It’s great to sprout those seedlings
But there’s one problem you should know
It hurts more than my feelings
My back is totally killing me
My hip has major pain
The hoeing that I did, you see
Sure caused a lot of strain
Yes Mother Nature’s song today
Is somewhat more benign
But it’s drowned out, without a doubt
By the toll of Father Time
