Career Considerations

I thought I’d cruise while selling shoes
But there was a dispute
Resulting in a problem so
The boss gave me the boot

I liked my railroad work a lot
But sadly, I got sacked
They said the reason was because
I always got sidetracked

Sanitation engineering
Gave hope to me, so I jumped
But on day two the boss declared
That I had just been dumped

The credit union gave me a job
And offered many perks
But it was bad because I had
Lost interest in my work

I loved to help build houses
’Twas work that I adored
But after doing it a while
I quit cuz I was board

I wrote a script to be performed
They say it was absurd
Each line was funny with a pun
A silly play on words

Binyons hired me recently
To put products on the shelf
But then I fell in their machine
Made a spectacle of myself

I moved into accountancy
But rapidly got tossed
I stumbled all around a lot
With no balance, I was lost

I worked in glue, but now I’m blue
There’s no way to wordsmith it
The problem was, I think because
I just could not stick with it

I joined the crew at Starbucks but
Quite quickly I resigned
I liked the people, but quickly got
Tired of the daily grind

Selling computer parts was primo
I really thought I’d thrive
But I got fired one day because
I totally lost my drive

Working as a butler seemed
So very grand to me
But quickly I found out that it
Was not my cup of tea

The orange juice factory had a job
At first it looked quite great
But I got fired because they said
I couldn’t concentrate

A job in gardening seemed to work
Although I was a fool
Important things I didn’t know
Included the ground rules

I went and made a blanket
Then found a store that sold it
Alas they didn’t do too well
And very quickly folded

Now I do not have a job
I sit around and wonder
Do meteorologists feel like me
That someone stole their thunder?
