Yawn – I guess it’s time
To grab my pen
And write down
My daily zen
That nap was great
Most satisfying
Though my mouth tastes like
Something in it’s dying
I guess it’s time
To breathe on the master
Cuz it seems to help him
Get up much faster
I mean look at it
It’s 8:00 a.m.
And there’s no trace of food
Inside my pan
Is it all that hard
To make a plan
To pour some food
Or open a can?
Ah, he smells my breath
Opening his eyes
I wonder if I’ll get
A big surprise?
Yes, yes, YES!
Now he’s awake!
And getting out of bed
I CAN’T WAIT!!!
Oh boy, oh boy another glorious day!
Again without fail
I cannot control
The wag of my tail
Oh, nummy, nummy nummy num
Crunchy, crunch,, crunchy crunch
God, that was good. Now I wonder what
He’s got planned for lunch
Ahhhh. Time for a nap
Once again, I guess
Life is good
To be this blessed
But wait!
I’m hearing some rustling
What’s the deal
With all that bustling?
Could it be? Could it BE?
Yes! I know that talk
It sounds like we’re going
Out for a WALK!
Oh joy, oh joy, oh joy!!!
Oh glorious joy!
It really truly pays
To be a good boy
OMG, the smells, the smells!
My source of elation
Spaniels and beagles
And pugs and dalmations
When it’s time for some tricks
I’ll play dead and I’ll beg
But for now there’s a hydrant
Time to lift up that leg
Ah, such a relief
That was effort well spent
I love leaving behind
A bit of my scent
Looks like we’re returning
No more time to carouse
So I’ll go on duty
Defending the house
From postmen and doorbells
And delivery chaps
I hate it when
They disturb my naps
But I won’t complain
At least not yet
Until my lovely master
Utters the word ‘vet’
