Grasshopper

Grasshopper hopping
On the ground
To where is it
That you are bound?

Moving fast
Striding high
Some of you
Can even fly

With compound eyes
Thorax, abdomen
And you lay eggs
(If you’re a woman)

But all of these
Including eggs
Take second place
To your great legs

But I confess
Green crème de menthe and white crème de cacao
Plus a heavy cream topper
Make up my favorite
Kind of grasshopper
