Lead Off

Here is something that needs to be said
There is a metal named ‘lead’
But there’s more

When you’re in front, it is agreed
A different noun has you in the ‘lead’

The verb called ‘lead’ is present tense
So “I lead parades” makes perfect sense

But the most important thing to be said
Is that the verb’s past tense is ‘led’
Not the present tense ‘lead’ or the metal ‘lead’

With that, you’ve got it
Nice and tight
Unless you haven’t
Red it right

Oh shit
