Live Long and Prosper

I don’t think I
Can do the math
Of the time on Earth
Of the coelacanth

From olden fossils
They were extinct
Or so that’s what
Everybody thinked

Plus no one had
It would appear
Seen one in
Millions of years

But then one day
In a bit of zen
There was hiding
A living specimen

So now I’ll duck out
Among the plants
So I can live as long
As coelacanths
