As the spider spins a web
A fly beside it passes
Knowing that the fibers are
As sticky as molasses
The spider says, “Come sit with me”
“I’ll brew us both a pot of tea”
“Thanks,” says the fly, “but I decline”
“I don’t like it when lunch is all about me”
