Saskatchewan chicken entrepreneur, Sven Meltrap, runner-up last week in Canada’s Duck-Calling-With-the-Stars competition in Tibial Junction, Manitoba, found himself in trouble recently when his neighbor, Miss Eileen Towers, came to visit and 14 of his chickens flew onto her, where they remained despite repeated efforts to shoo them away. Blushing, Mr. Meltrap stated he was unable to keep his hens off of Miss Towers.
Recent financial setbacks hitting popular local newscaster, Leroy Camembert of KESF radio in Spider Falls, have shaken him to the bone. Reeling as a result of unexpected expenses earlier in the month arising from repair of his automobile’s clutch at Mel’s Muffler and Transmission Shop on 4th street and a $212 speeding ticket, Camembert watched in horror as his checking account balance hovered near zero with a week left to go in the month. Fortunately, through careful planning of meals and a $20 loan from half-brother Tim, Mr. Camembert managed to avoid overdrawing his account and emerged scared, but unscarred from the near debt experience.
