Sonnets I have tried to write
The format stilted, hard
Attempts that turn out very trite
Unlike writings from the bard
His words betray grand eloquence
Poetic lines and verses
From me, linguistic malevolence
With ungrammatic curses
I’ve tried and tried and I have failed
The work of an amateur
A literary ocean I have sailed
In moronic pentameter
And so, with this, I admit defeat
My sonnetic aspirations incomplete
