Poetic Touch

I feel I’m getting a poetic touch
Which means it doesn’t take too much
To write a verse

I used to sit and futz and fuss
And all that ever came out was
Not very good

Now I take a simple phrase
And think of all the various ways
I can twist it

I play with words that sort of rhyme
And then, voila, sometimes
I have a verse

So, that for me, is how it goes
Easier than writing prose. Who knows
Where it will go?
