Out the Windoze

The computer fixing ritual
I knew it all too well
Turn the system off, then on
And pray things don’t go to hell

And so it was, I went to sleep
Awhile repairing things
No way I knew how long ‘twould take
“Until the fat lady sings”

No problem turning it off at all
Bedtime worked its spell
But starting up on morning’s call
Was an awful kind of hell

I was on version 1.0
With little to complain
You see, the system requiring repair
Was my brain

When the alarm went off
I couldn’t execute
Because my system
Refused to boot

I realized I must have erased
Its memory fully clean
With that, I knew that it was time
For installation of caffeine

Which perked things up
It seemed I was winning
Cuz like a hard drive,
My head started spinning

But sadly then, a message came
To me, it simply said
“The repair you have attempted failed”
So now I’m going back to bed
