Is a folded piece of paper stock
With ink smeared thick upon it
A better way to state one’s love
Than a carefully crafted sonnet?
If so, then to you I suggest
This verse you should discard
And go pursue the love expressed
Inside a Hallmark card
But oh how I shall look ahead
With happiness in me
If you turn out to be, instead
Still keenly reading verse three
