Chair in the Valley

(to the tune of “Red River Valley”)

So we all know that Gary’s completed
His term as the Chair of BB
In that effort he truly succeeded
So let’s sing here of his legacy

On his watch we got Ryan and Colin
And Dave Hendrix to help us compute
Weihong Qiu’s in the lab on the corner
With Perez in the Pauling Institute

Afua Nyarko is our newest hire
Kari helps us to fill what we lack
Thanks to this, we are up half a dozen
You could say Gary got us six-packed

There is also a list of promotions
Michael, Fritz, and Indira on track
Barbar, Ahern, Lanelle all three smiling
Making up yet another six-pack

For awards, BB folks took high honors
Elisar got the Harris in check
Joe and Andy Distinguished Professors
And Lanelle was the outstanding tech

There was more than a six-pack of honors
So forgive me, there’s no room I beg
But it’s clear BB’s Chair in the Valley
Sure delivered us more than a keg
